Wireless robotic mowers still tend to be complex to install when done properly. Less intrusive than wired mowers, these machines still need to map out each individual area on the property, mark transport paths, and create virtual stay out zones.

With Kress, you've got a mapping cart, which gives you the advantage of speed. Hasqvarna allows you to drop pins. This makes it easy to get perfectly straight lines. On the sunseeker, the control is impeccable, so you can create very accurate turns and complex shapes. Each has its own advantages. This goes for the other manufacturers as well.

When you talk about hardware, the only thing to mention is reference stations. The charging stations are all comparable in size and all plug into a regular outlet. When it comes to reference stations, mounting on the roof is optimal but not required. The more size and complexity of the property, the more important a higher and more open spot for the reference station.

Now some mowers don't need a reference station they pull a signal from a larger local reference station. With these mowers, like Kess, one needs to make sure the location of the mower is in the coverage area and test the mower thoroughly before completing the installation.

Most wireless mowers are similar you make working areas, paths to get there, and mark out anywhere you don't want the mower to go.

The above are mostly statements on the major brands and currently popular mowers. Because the demand for wireless has gone up, there are many great products, especially for more simple yards. For example, some manufacturers use cameras that map the yard themselves, making for an effortless instillation. Other mowers are introducing the ability to use cameras and sensors to modify the instillation while working. This happens by doing things like marking out new obstacles in the yard or pushing a boundary closer to the fence line.

Overall, wireless installations are fantastic. The ability to mow different areas at different heights and frequencies really helps with the health of the lawn. The flexibility of a wireless mower on top of not having to worry about wire breaks gives these mowers so much value. As the seasons pass, we can expect to see instillations become even more seamless and advanced. In many ways wireless installations are similar but there are always going to be small differences between brands and new technology every year.

Good overview. Also want to add that different manufacturers have different specs for the RTK antenna, the mower battery and also different features and algorithms . It therefore is very iseful to seek professional advise when choosing a robotic lawn mower.
